Sam's 10th birthday May 2010

It was 10 years ago when this wonderful boy came into our lives. He is now almost 5 feet tall. He is a kind, smart, funny kid. He loves to be goofy and silly but is also very serious about things important to him. He is very interested in science related things, the environment, riding his bike and being with his good friends. For his birthday, he wanted a small party. He invited two good friends over for a night of fun. First up was going swimming. We took the kids to the rec center. They had a blast.

Then Sam opened some presents.
After swimming it was pizza time. Sam also wanted a cookie cake. Cookies and More in Iowa City (Sycamore Mall) makes gluten free, dairy free cookies. They made Sam a great cookie cake for him. The smile on his face when we picked it up was well worth the price. We took it home and decorated it with chocolate frosting. Sam insisted we buy some hard frosting letters to spell out Happy Birthday. So, here you have it.....

We sang the birthday boy "Happy Birthday"!

The boys spent the night. They stayed up all night long. I went to bed at 1:00am. The next morning they were actually up pretty early and back to playing. All in all.....it was a great time for everybody.
