Sam's 12th Birthday May 2012

Sam's 12th birthday was a lot of fun.  We took a few of his good buddies to The University of Iowa Campus Rec and Wellness Center.  There was so much to do at the pool.  There is a lazy river to ride, a rock wall to climb, a big hot tub and a zero entry swimming area.  It was great entertainment for 12 year old boys.  We took a break and got fruit smoothies at the smoothie bar.

After the pool, we jumped back in the van and headed to Redbox.  We picked out some movies for late night viewing.  When we got back to the house, it was time for pizza. 

After pizza, it was time to open up presents.  Sam got some great gifts...duct tape, i tunes card, Barnes and Noble gift card and Legos. 

Time to sing to the birthday boy...

I made a giant cookie cake for Sam.  He told me what to write on the top of the cookie.

All in all, it was a great time.  The boys stayed up until 1:30 am.  The next day Sam fell asleep on the couch in his room for about 1 1/2 hours.
