It all started with a snow day this last December. We were all a little stir crazy. So, I decided it was time to make gingerbread houses. We had to make gluten free slabs for Sam. After that was done we were ready to get started.

Julia is just getting started. She realized it takes a lot of frosting to make the slabs stick together and not fall over. She was fine with that because it meant more for her to lick off her fingers.
This is Julia after she is done. She is quite proud of her work.

This is Sam after he is done. I think there is about a pound of candy and a can of frosting on this thing.

Close up of Julia's masterpiece.

Closer view of Sam's house. It looked great and then he decided to sprinkle green sugar on the top. That is the moment that took it over the top for me.

All in all this was a lot of fun. They nibbled on the houses a bit but would get upset at the suggestion of actually eating them. They sat around until January when I finally let them go.
