Iowa State Fair August 2012

We had a wonderful trip to the Iowa State Fair this year.  The whole family likes to go to the fair.  We started off by visiting the birds.

As soon as we left the birds, we stopped for some food.  We all picked out something tasty.  Sam got beef jerky.  Julia and I got fried bread.  Brian got fried bread with a bunch of toppings on it.

Our next stop was the butterfly tent.  It was a smaller tent this year.  There were not as many butterflies but we enjoyed getting them to land on our fingers.  They gave us a Q-tip with Gatorade on it to feed the butterflies.

This butterfly stayed on my toe for quite awhile.

Julia had a lot of butterflies land on her.

We also went to the building that they showcase merchandise.  It is fun to walk around and see people demonstrate their products.  I like to visit the booth that sells felt.

Skyrides were the next thing on our list.

Sam was very excited to try ribs.  He tried hard to keep his face clean....

We were almost ready to leave and we found out Obama was at the fair.  We waited around for about 45 minutes to see him but we didn't see him.  We did see the presidential RV.
